Best Western Premier Trithorn Hotspring Resort Xiamen (Zuìjiā Xīfāng Xiàmén Cuìfēng Wēnquán Dùjià Jiúdiàn 最佳西方厦门翠丰温泉度假酒店) Best Western’ first 5-star resort in China, this 35,000m2 resort is delightful for an overnighter or a weekend getaway.   Sue and I spent 3 delightful days there for Valentine's, 2008.   They had a special Valentine one-night package (for one night stands?), but they also gave us a great rate for two additional nights.

We enjoyed the in-room hot springs, the "Minnan Village" hotsprings (even had the kissing fish nibble our toes!), the great Western and Chinese cuisine. Each day, they put roses and chocolates in the room, and the first night a "Valentine Mystery" gift (I'll let you guess what Chinese would put in that!).

This was the first time in over 25 years that Sue and I had enjoyed such a special Valentine's day, but it was worth it because we also used the time to celebrate our December wedding anniversary (Sue's always too busy in December with her Christmas programs and other celebrations back in Xiamen).

Fine dining and delightful ambience at Best Western Trithorn Hotsprings Resort Xiamen Fujian ChinaTong'an Town was also fun; we liked strolling the narrow, tree-Conference and meeting facilities at Best Western Trithorn Hotsprings Resort Xiamen Fujian Chinashaded lantern-lit streets downtown.  They reminded me of Xiamen 20 years ago.  And we visited the scenic Tingxi Reservoir, the sprawling Tong'an Film City (which has a miniature Forbidden Palace and Tian'anmen).  But our favorite was Butterfly Valley, which is only about 6km. up a country road from the hotsprings (good concrete road all but the last km).
