Joann
Hill's
parents,
Henry and Stella
Veenschoten, were missionaries in Amoy
from 1917 to 1951, and Joann was born in Hope Hospital
on Gulangyu. After college,
she returned in the 40s with her physician husband, Jack,
and they served in Tong'an until leaving for
the Philippines in 1951. We visited the Hills
in Penney Farms, Florida, in August 2007, and what a delightful couple!
Thanks so much for the rich historical materials, and the 80+ photos,
that you two provided for the Amoy Mission.
web pages and upcoming book.
